How To Add POP UP Facebook Like Box? For Blog & Website
This widget pops up a jQuery window containing Facebook likebox as soon as a new visitor arrives. This plugin can be added to both Blogger Blogs and Wordpress. I am using here the same jQuery effect like this one can be widely seen on many blogs now. It will help you increase your Facebook Fans greatly.
This popup appears only once to every new visitor. The ip address of the visitor is stored in browser cookie and as the page loads again the widget wont be called again for the same visitor thus eliminating the chances of bugging regular readers. Because of course it will look weird if the popup appears again and again on every pageview.
It will appear both on homepage and sub pages depending which page the visitor is accessing. I have set the cookie refresh time to 30 days, which means that this lightbox will appear again for the same visitor after 30 days. We can easily set the number of days to prompt the visitors about your Facebook Fan page. Lets get straight to the one step installation process.

Make Windows 7 Boot Up Faster
You’re in a hurry and trying to boot your computer up but it takes like five minutes or more before the system becomes useable. Countless startup programs seem to be choking your computer and hang it somehow. With so many programs starting up with your computer, it takes quite a while before you can use the OS and full boot might be slow but there’s a fix for it.
This isn’t a new tweak, as a matter of fact, it’s very old but you probably won’t know about it if you’re not a computer savvy person. You don’t need any other software to kill these startup programs preventing Windows from booting quick, there’s a default in-built feature where you can turn off those autostart programs.
-Click the start button
- Go to Accessories > Run
- In the box that comes up, type msconfig and hit Enter on your keyboard
- Select Startup tab on the window that appears. Here is where all the startup programs clogging your computer are listed.
- Uncheck all the programs except important ones like your antivirus, anti-malwareand other important ones. If your Audio or Video controller is also on this list, be sure it’s not unchecked.
- Hit OK, there should be a prompt asking you to restart. Hit the Restart button
When your computer restarts, you should notice a significant speed in booting up. So far startup programs are responsible for the slow boot, this should fix it. However this won’t work if something is already wrong with your operating system.

How To Fix Huawei Modem Blue Screen (BSOD) Error on Windows 8
One of the first problems I encountered on Windows 8 was the blue screen of death (BSOD) I got while trying to connect to the internet using my unlocked Huawei modem. I was able to install the driver successfully and the dashboard icon displayed right on the desktop but each time I tried to connect to the internet, I kept getting this annoying blue screen with someBAD_POOL_CALLER error showing on the screen.

The problem actually has to do with the modem driver. At the moment, the drivers available for most models of Huawei USB modems are not compatible with Windows 8. So, updating your modem driver as suggested by some people may not even fix the issue (unless Huawei does something).
How to Fix the Error
I tried installing the modem driver in compatibility mode but it never worked. I tried it in Windows 7 and Windows XP SP3 compatibilty mode but I got a different error. The modem connected but won’t open a page as data is neither sent nor received. After some hours, I traced the problem to my device manager.
- Go to the bottom-left of the screen and right-click on the the Start button, then select Device Manager
- Under Network Adapters, right-click on Huawei Mobile Connect and disable it as shown below:
- Now launch your modem software and go to Tools > Options. Under the General tab, change the connection type from NDIS to Modem or RAS.
This is all I did that fixed the constant crash I kept getting with my Huawei USB modem on Wondows 8. Hope it works for you too.

Adding Feedjit Traffic Feed To Blogger & Hiding It From Blog Visitors
Feedjit Live Traffic Feed is one of the best ways to effectively monitor your blog traffic and it’s very easy to use. It clearly shows your visitors’ geographical location, incoming search queries, exit pages, time of visit and other things that can make you deduce a quick analysis on your web traffic. It gives you an insight on what content your visitors are interested in the most.
Though it’s incomparable to google analytics in terms of sophistication, feedjit live traffic feed widget can still do a lot in helping you know your most valuable keywords, traffic source and so on.

That’s what the free traffic widget looks like. You like it? Now let’s add it to your blogspot blog!
How To Add Feedjit Live Traffic Feed To Blogger
-You need to first visit feedjit to generate the code. Click here to see the sign up page.
-Fill the registration form and and proceed to the next page where you’ll need to configure the look and feel of the free traffic widget to easily blend with your blog’s template
-After choosing the colors, size and every other thing, you can select your blogging platform with the drop down menu at the bottom and add it directly to your blog from there.
-I prefer the alternative: Manually adding it to your blog. Select Other blog or website and copy out the generated code.
-Go to your blog’s dashboard and click on Design.
-Depending on where you want the live traffic feed widget to appear on your blog, click on Add a Gadget, select HTML/Javascript and paste the code you copied earlier into the box.
-Save your template and preview your blog
How To Hide Feedjit Live Traffic Feed From Your Visitors
Though this widget looks cool, you may want to have a hidden tracker for reasons best known to you. When your visitors see that they’re being tracked, they might feel a bit insecure and being tightly watched. Nobody likes this, not even me. You may also want to have this traffic feed widget invisible but still working in the background because you feel it’s too bogus and gives your blog some sort of unprofessional look?
Whatever the reason may be, you can turn it to some sort of invisible tracker for your blog and here’s a little trick to hide this feedjit widget.
<div style="height:0;width:0;overflow:hidden;">
YOUR FEEDJIT CODE HERE
</div>
Replace YOUR FEEDJIT CODE HERE with the code you generated earlier. Alternatively, simply paste the code below to your blog:
<div style="height:0;width:0;overflow:hidden;">
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://feedjit.com/serve/?bc=FFFFFF&tc=494949&brd1=336699&lnk=494949&hc=336699&ww=160"></script><noscript>
</div>
That’s it and the widget remains hidden in the background. Are you wondering how to view the traffic feed widget when it’s already hidden?

Paper Battery
A paper battery is a flexible, ultra-thin energy storage and production device formed by combining carbon nanotube s with a conventional sheet of cellulose-based paper. A paper battery acts as both a high-energy battery and supercapacitor, combining two components that are separate in traditional electronics . This combination allows the battery to provide both long-term, steady power production and bursts of energy. Non-toxic, flexible paper batteries have the potential to power the next generation of electronics, medical devices and hybrid vehicles, allowing for radical new designs and medical technologies.
Paper batteries may be folded, cut or otherwise shaped for different applications without any loss of integrity or efficiency . Cutting one in half halves its energy production. Stacking them multiplies power output. Early prototypes of the device are able to produce 2.5 volt s of electricity from a sample the size of a postage stamp
Paper battery offers future power
They have produced a sample slightly larger than a postage stamp that can store enough energy to illuminate a small light bulb. But the ambition is to produce reams of paper that could one day power a car.
Professor Robert Linhardt, of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, said the paper battery was a glimpse into the future of power storage. The team behind the versatile paper, which stores energy like a conventional battery, says it can also double as a capacitor capable of releasing sudden energy bursts for high-power applications.
How a paper battery works
While a conventional battery contains a number of separate components, the paper battery integrates all of the battery components in a single structure, making it more energy efficient.
Integrated devices
The research appears in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
"Think of all the disadvantages of an old TV set with tubes," said Professor Linhardt, from the New York-based institute, who co-authored a report into the technology."The warm up time, power loss, component malfunction; you don't get those problems with integrated devices. When you transfer power from one component to another you lose energy. But you lose less energy in an integrated device."
The battery contains carbon nanotubes, each about one millionth of a centimetre thick, which act as an electrode. The nanotubes are embedded in a sheet of paper soaked in ionic liquid electrolytes, which conduct the electricity. The flexible battery can function even if it is rolled up, folded or cut. Although the power output is currently modest, Professor Linhardt said that increasing the output should be easy.
Construction and Structure
Construction
A very brief explanation has been provided.
• Cathode: Carbon Nanotube (CNT)
• Anode: Lithium metal (Li+)
• Electrolyte: All electrolytes (incl. bio electrolytes like blood, sweat and urine)
• Separator: Paper (Cellulose)
The process of construction can be understood in the following steps:
• Firstly, a common Xerox paper of desired shape and size is taken.
• Next, by conformal coating using a simple Mayer rod method, the specially formulated ink with suitable substrates (known as CNT ink) is spread over the paper sample.
• The strong capillary force in paper enables high contacting surface area between the paper and nanotubes after the solvent is absorbed and dried out in an oven.
• A thin lithium film is laminated over the exposed cellulose surface which completes our paper battery. This paper battery is then connected to the aluminum current collectors which connect it to the external load.
• The working of a paper battery is similar to an electrochemical battery except with the constructional differences.
The paper battery is designed to use a paper-thin sheet of cellulose (which is the major constituent of regular paper, among other things) infused with aligned carbon nanotubes. The nanotubes act as electrodes, allowing the storage devices to conduct electricity. The battery will currently provide a low, steady power output, as well as a supercapacitor’s quick burst of energy. While a conventional battery contains a number of separate components, the paper battery integrates all of the battery components in a single structure, making it more energy efficient and lighter.

A neural network is a powerful data modeling tool that is able to capture and represent complex input/output relationships . In the broader sense, a neural network is a collection of mathematical models that emulate some of the observed properties of biological nervous systems and draw on the analogies of adaptive biological learning. It is composed of a large number of highly interconnected processing elements that are analogous to neurons and are tied together with weighted connections that are analogous to synapses.
To be more clear, let us study the model of a neural network with the help of figure.1. The most common neural network model is the multilayer perceptron (MLP). It is composed of hierarchical layers of neurons arranged so that information flows from the input layer to the output layer of the network. The goal of this type of network is to create a model that correctly maps the input to the output using historical data so that the model can then be used to produce the output when the desired output is unknown.
Neural network is a sequence of neuron layers. A neuron is a building block of a neural net. It is very loosely based on the brain's nerve cell. Neurons will receive inputs via weighted links from other neurons. This inputs will be processed according to the neurons activation function. Signals are then passed on to other neurons.
In a more practical way, neural networks are made up of interconnected processing elements called units which are equivalent to the brains counterpart ,the neurons.
Neural network can be considered as an artificial system that could perform "intelligent" tasks similar to those performed by the human brain. Neural networks resemble the human brain in the following ways:
1. A neural network acquires knowledge through learning.
2. A neural network's knowledge is stored within inter-neuron connection strengths known as synaptic weights.
3. Neural networks modify own topology just as neurons in the brain can die and new synaptic connections grow.
Why we choose face recognition over other biometric?
There are a number reasons to choose face recognition. This includes the following :
1. It requires no physical inetraction on behalf of the user.
2. It is accurate and allows for high enrolment and verification rates.
3. It does not require an expert to interpret the comparison result.
4. It can use your existing hardware infrastructure, existing camaras and image capture devices will work with no problems.
5. It is the only biometric that allow you to perform passive identification in a one to many environment (eg: identifying a terrorist in a busy Airport terminal.
The face is an important part of who you are and how people identify you. Except in the case of identical twins, the face is arguably a person's most unique physical characteristics. While humans have the innate ability to recognize and distinguish different faces for millions of years , computers are just now catching up. For face recognition there are two types of comparisons .the first is verification. This is where the system compares the given individual with who that individual says they are and gives a yes or no decision. The second is identification. This is where the system compares the given individual to all the other individuals in the database and gives a ranked list of matches. All identification or authentication technologies operate using the following four stages:
1. capture: a physical or behavioural sample is captured by the system during enrollment and also in identification or verification process.
2. Extraction: unique data is extracted from the sample and a template is created.
3. Comparison: the template is then compared with a new sample.
4. Match/non match : the system decides if the features extracted from the new sample are a match or a non match.
Face recognition starts with a picture, attempting to find a person in the image. This can be accomplished using several methods including movement, skin tones, or blurred human shapes. The face recognition system locates the head and finally the eyes of the individual. A matrix is then developed based on the characteristics of the individual’s face. The method of defining the matrix varies according to the algorithm (the mathematical process used by the computer to perform the comparison). This matrix is then compared to matrices that are in a database and a similarity score is generated for each comparison.
Artificial intelligence is used to simulate human interpretation of faces. In order to increase the accuracy and adaptability, some kind of machine learning has to be implemented.
There are essentially two methods of capture. One is video imaging and the other is thermal imaging. Video imaging is more common as standard video cameras can be used. The precise position and the angle of the head and the surrounding lighting conditions may affect the system performance. The complete facial image is usually captured and a number of points on the face can then be mapped, position of the eyes, mouth and the nostrils as a example. More advanced technologies make 3-D map of the face which multiplies the possible measurements that can be made.
Thermal imaging has better accuracy as it uses facial temperature variations caused by vein structure as the distinguishing traits. As the heat pattern is emitted from the face itself without source of external radiation these systems can capture images despite the lighting condition, even in the dark. The drawback is high cost. They are more expensive than standard video cameras.
Face recognition technologies have been associated generally with very costly top secure applications. Today the core technologies have evolved and the cost of equipments is going down dramatically due to the intergration and the increasing processing power. Certain application of face recognition technology are now cost effective, reliable and highly accurate. As a result there are no technological or financial barriers for stepping from the pilot project to widespread deployment.
